Call for Experts: Contribute to The Vanguard for Black Women

If you’re a community leader, expert, or advocate who is passionate about empowering Black Women, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating pathways to holistic well-being, we want to work with you. We’ve been building the Vanguard for Black Women since last year, and now, as we move into Phase 2, we’re inviting experts to help us craft a roadmap that puts Black Women’s experiences front and center.



About The Vanguard for Black Women 

This initiative is led by Nikki Porcher, founder of Buy From A Black Woman. It is about creating a sustainable framework to uplift Black Women Business Owners, their families, and their communities. Our mission is to unite on key areas like economic empowerment, leadership, wellness, and community building and develop actual action plans that lead to lasting change.


What we’re looking for 

We’re calling on experts to contribute chapters, articles, and/or essays that align with the project’s vision. Here are some themes you can write about:


  1. Reclaiming Identity and Purpose: Exploring the historical resilience of Black Women and creating vision boards, personal manifestos, and accountability plans on the journey to redefining what success means for us.

  2. Business Ownership and Wealth Building: Essential steps to entrepreneurship (business plans, legal setup, and branding), and strategies for growth and financial Independence.

  3. Leadership and Legacy: Developing leadership skills and executive presence, establishing a long-term personal and business legacy, and fostering mentorship.

  4. Career Advancement for Non-Business Owners: Breaking barriers in traditionally underrepresented industries, career development, and leveraging professional networks.

  5. Holistic Wellness for Black Women: Mental, physical, and spiritual wellness, from therapy and preventive healthcare to spiritual practices and community support.

  6. Lifestyle Design for Success: Designing the life you want, prioritizing tasks, eliminating distractions, and cultivating an abundant mindset.

  7. Family, Relationships, and Community: Maintaining loving and supportive relationships and building communities rooted in trust, empowerment, and shared goals.

  8. Social Justice and Policy Engagement: Understanding laws and policies affecting Black Women, learning how to influence policy change and mobilization strategies.

  9. Philanthropy and Giving Back: Community service, creating a giving strategy for personal or business philanthropy, and impact reporting.

  10. Allyship 101: Recognizing privilege and the role of active allyship, cultural competency, and unlearning bias.

  11. Challenging Systemic Barriers: Understanding the systems affecting Black Women’s success, corporate advocacy, and strategies for effective political engagement.
